The café in the Old Wiehre Station belongs to the ensemble of the municipal cinema and the Literaturforum Südwest and has been a fixture of the Wiehre's cultural life since 1981. Before and after screenings, at readings, or simply on a rainy afternoon, the station café is one of the district's most characterful spots for a break. The historic building at Urachstraße 40 marks the boundary between Mittel- and Oberwiehre and sits within sight of the Sternwald forest.

The operation is currently run under the name Barbette by Annette Huber. By day, coffee and cake dominate; in the evening, wine and small snacks move to the fore - a blend of café and wine bar keyed to the rhythm of the cinema program and the quarter. It is usually open from the late afternoon, from midday on Wednesdays and already in the morning on Saturdays to match the farmers' market held right in front of the station. On Mondays and Tuesdays it opens only in the evening; check current times before visiting.

The location ties together several Wiehre routes: from the Urachstraße junction it is a few minutes to Annaplatz, the Dreisam and the Sternwald.
