ZMF - Tent Music Festival
Nineteen days of concerts under tent roofs at the Mundenhof - one of southern Germany's most tradition-rich festivals, since 1983.
The Tent Music Festival (ZMF) has taken over the Mundenhof grounds on Freiburg's western edge every midsummer since 1983. In the mirror tent, the big tent and on open-air stages, stars of pop, jazz, world music and classical perform, alongside club nights, workshops and a free supporting program. The 42nd edition runs from 15 July to 2 August 2026. Visitors who catch several concerts often stay overnight - Freiburg hotels book up early during the ZMF weeks.
Getting there: from the Wiehre, tram line 1 reaches the "Mundenhof" stop in about 25 minutes - no car needed. On festival days the trams run well past midnight. Anyone arriving by car parks at the designated festival lots at the Mundenhof.
