The city's big autumn funfair on the Neuer Messplatz - more than 100 showmen with rides and food stalls.

Freiburg's „Mess“ dates back to 1927 and is held twice a year, as a spring fair and an autumn fair. On the Neuer Messplatz, visitors find more than 100 showmen with rides ranging from family-friendly to pure adrenaline, plus numerous snack and food stalls. The site lies in the Brühl district on the opposite side of the city, not in the Wiehre. It is well served by bus and tram, and free parking is available at the SC stadium. From the Wiehre the easiest route is by tram via the city centre towards the exhibition grounds.
